About Nicole Moehring image
Nicole is a survivor of domestic, emotional, financial, mental, physical, psychological, and verbal abuse from her first marriage. Initially, the abuse was subtle, but it got worse over time. Like many people, she denied it. As a result of the extent of the abuse, she suffered significantly from low self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence, leading to an overall feeling that she was not good enough.' Over the years, she also dealt with depression, anxiety, and loneliness while living in constant fear. Unfortunately, there are many individuals in similar situations. She was constantly afraid, not knowing what to do or where to turn.

Domestic violence, abuse in any form, depression, poor mental health, and the abuse of children with disabilities are essential topics that we need to openly discuss as a society to begin to reduce systemic issues. All it takes is ONE voice to create change.

Although it was late in her journey, she found her voice and had a lot of personal healing to do. She hopes that her journey will inspire and empower others to not give up, to stand up to their abusers, and to reclaim their power. No one deserves to be abused in any form, controlled, degraded, disrespected, or made to feel worthless and inadequate.

She is not ashamed of her past. She would never want to relive it; however, all these adversities have allowed her to grow and become the woman she is today. This has been a challenging road. She has chosen to use all the negative experiences she has encountered in life and all the adversities she has overcome to help empower others.

She shares her journey, life experiences, and her comeback to raise awareness, with the hope of inspiring someone to persevere and never give up. Her story is meant to provide support, not garner sympathy.

"It's easy to judge others, but knowing what someone else is going through is impossible unless we've walked in someone else's shoes. Always be kind. Life experiences change people. We all handle things in different ways. Take time to get to know someone; give them a chance. Include them without judgment. Do not listen to the opinions of others. How we treat someone says a lot about our integrity and could make a difference in someone else's life." ~ Nicole Moehring

"Evan's Voice" A Boy with a Disability. Abused and Failed by Many. And His Mother's Quest for Justice.

Evan's Voice image

Nicole's second book, Evan's Voice is now available in paperback and eBook format on Amazon.

Paperback: https://a.co/d/eIC2yvZ

eBook: https://a.co/d/aLNOIZm

Evan’s Voice is a raw and vulnerable true story. Both of Nicole's children, a daughter and a son, who has Fragile X Syndrome and autism, have been victims of sexual abuse. Evan was sexually abused and exploited, many systems repeatedly failed him, and law enforcement discriminated against him. It's also the story of Evan’s sister, Maci, who is neurotypical and was also sexually assaulted but received justice and was believed and treated well by law enforcement. The story also covers their mother Nicole’s relentless pursuit of justice, equality, and rights for individuals with disabilities in the judicial system when they have been victimized.

As a mother going through an unimaginable ordeal, Nicole witnessed significant disparities in how the justice system treated her daughter and son. It seemed that her son's rights were disregarded because of his disability. He was discriminated against by the very people who were supposed to protect him, and as a result, his voice was never given a chance to be heard. "Evan's Voice" will be available in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook formats.

This book is truly raw and eye-opening!

Part of the proceeds will be donated to Nicole's Nonprofit Organization, Voices of Change 2018.
